About Bb DACH

At the end of 2005 the User Group Bb DACH was established. It is an association of universities in the German-speaking area (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) that have implemented the Learning Management Systems of Blackboard Inc.

The association’s main goals are to establish a dialogue on applications and use in practice of the LMS, and to represent its users’ and system administrators’ common interests to the company Blackboard Inc. Thereby we would like to facilitate a cooperative and solutions-oriented discourse supported by German-speaking users as well as the system manufacturer.

At the first meeting of Bb DACH at the Freie Universität Berlin representatives of the e-learning centres at the participating universities exchanged ideas as well as experiences with regard to the implementation of the LMS. Subsequently, they discussed their individual change requests with Blackboard representatives present at the meeting and thus initiated the desired collective dialogue.

The first participating universities where: Fachhochschule Amberg-Weiden, Hochschule für Technik Stuttgart (Fachhochschule), Freie Universität Berlin, Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Universität Bonn, ETH Zürich, Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Universität Innsbruck and Universität Salzburg, Veterinärmedizinische Universität Wien. The association welcomes any new German-speaking universities (or other higher education institutions) that use Blackboard LMS´s and wish to join the group.
